For 2,600 years, coins carried faces - kings, emperors, presidents. Symbols meant to remind you who controlled the money. The Coin has no face. Because what matters now isn't whose portrait you're holding - it's whether you can get in.
I art directed this project from concept through execution: the key visual system, 3D renders of the sculptural coin forms, motion design, and even remixed the soundtrack. The animation walks through the lineage of currency, from ancient Greek drachmas to Byzantine gold - before landing on The Coin.
Trading isn't new. Humans have been doing it for thousands of years - long before currencies existed, before coins were minted, before anyone put a king's face on a piece of metal to remind you who was in charge.
The Coin strips all that away. No monarch. No institution. No gatekeeper. Just pure form - abstract, sculptural, gold.
It represents something different: access. Access to global markets. Access to the same instruments the professionals use. Access to the continuation of something humans have always done.

The animation tells this story visually. Frame by frame, we move through 2,600 years of currency:
And then The Coin appears. Abstract, faceless, modern.
"We were traders before we were anything else."
This line anchors the whole piece. It's not about inventing something new. It's about continuing something fundamental to human nature. Trading is ancient. The tools are new. The instinct is the same.
The ending lands on two words: "History continues."
I handled art direction across the entire project:
